Settling In
FairPlay is an NGO and not a commercial organisation. We rely on students having a fantastic time here, so that they spread the word and we can continue offering local people a sustainable future. We want you to feel at home from the second you arrive in Cusco, and will do whatever we can to help you settle in.
Your Arrival: FairPlay will meet you at the airport arrivals hall or bus station and take you to your accommodation. When you have had a chance to relax and rest, you can come to our offices in your own time, ahead of your course start date, to discuss any questions you might have.
Introduction to Cusco: We offer an optional introduction service to help you get to know Cusco. Early on in your stay, your practical teacher can meet you at our office and take you for a tour in the city centre so that you know where the most important things are and can get oriented. After the tour she will take you back to your homestay or hostel. If you have booked a language course with FairPlay, this service is free of charge.
Travel advice: If you booked a language-course with FairPlay, you’ll automatically receive our handy ‘Cusco City Guide’ booklet. This contains a load of information, addresses and maps to help you find your way in Cusco, as well as a long list of places where you can get discounts as a member of the FairPlay Club. More information about the city, Machu Picchu and the numerous other attractions in the area can be found in the Our Community section of this website.
If you need more information about travelling in the Cusco region, Peru or South American in general, we can help with that too. We are not a travel agent so we don’t book tours or hotels, which also means that we won’t be trying to sell you anything. Instead, we will use our extensive knowledge and experience of this beautiful continent to assist you with impartial advice. We can help locate timetables, addresses, phone numbers, independent guides, maps and almost anything else you might need.
