Volunteer
We know that many people are keen to put something back into the local community during their time abroad, and we are happy to help you find a volunteer placement that suits you. As well as lending your skills and energy to a good cause, volunteering can be a great way to get to know local people, practice your Spanish and see a side of Peruvian life that remains hidden to many tourists.
At FairPlay, we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with our work. For details of the type of placements we can offer and the projects we currently need help with, please see the Volunteering with FairPlay page on this website.
There are, of course, many other charities and NGOs in the Cusco region that would be grateful for your efforts. Some volunteer programmes are better organised than others, and in order to help you spend your time here in a meaningful way, FairPlay has listed some examples of what we consider to be high quality placements where your volunteering will be constructive.
If you have only limited time to spare, please see our Short-Term Volunteering page. If you plan to stay in Cusco for several months or more, please see our Long-Term Volunteering page. The organisations listed on both pages are independent of FairPlay.
We do not charge potential volunteers any money for providing this information, nor do we receive any money from the organisations in exchange for directing volunteers to them. You are free to contact them yourself, but FairPlay is also happy to facilitate contact and translate correspondence if you would rather get in touch with one of the listed organisations through us.
If you arrange a placement with an organisation listed here yourself, we request (but do not insist) that you send us a quick email to let us know, so that we can keep track of how our service is working.
Our website cannot possibly list every project in Cusco, and should none of the listed organisations suit you, please see our Advice page for tips on choosing between the numerous other volunteering options available.
If you have any further questions or comments, please get in touch to let us know.
